Lebron James Launches Voter Awareness Organization, Taps Fellow Athletes & Entertainers For Support
Just days after stories of delayed lines in Tuesday’s (June 9th Atlanta primary election, NBA champion LeBron James is taking action.

According to reports, LeBron James has started a non-profit organization called More Than A Vote to raise awareness on the importance of voting this November, and warn against voter suppression. Fellow athletes said to be in talks with the cause are Skylar Diggins, Draymond Green, Jalen Rose, and Trae Young. Comedian Kevin Hart is also reportedly involved.

LBJ told the New York Times:
“I’m inspired by the likes of Muhammad Ali, I’m inspired by the Bill Russells and the Kareem Abdul-Jabbars, the Oscar Robertsons — those guys who stood when the times were even way worse than they are today. Hopefully, someday down the line, people will recognize me not only for the way I approached the game of basketball, but the way I approached life as an African-American man.”
He continued:
“Yes, we want you to go out and vote, but we’re also going to give you the tutorial. We’re going to give you the background of how to vote and what they’re trying to do, the other side, to stop you from voting.”
LeBron James’s recent ensemble activism is reminiscent of his powerful stance on gun violence at the ESPY Awards alongside Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Paul in 2016.
