EXCLUSIVE: SWV’s LeLee Lyons Joins Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta, Along With Her Son & Daughter
theJasmineBrand exclusively reports, super-girl-group, SWV singer, Lelee Lyons, will reportedly join the cast of WeTV’s Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta, along with her daughter, Margaret Lyons, and son, rapper, Khiry Lyons.
She tells theJasmineBrand exclusively,
“I feel like if anybody knows about hip hop, it’s me. Everything I do is hip hop.”
Lelee Lyons (born Leanne Lyons), is well-known as one-third of the girl group trio, SWV (Sisters With Voices), that gained prominence in the 90’s with hits like “Weak,” “Anything,” and “You’re the One”. The singer was clear that even though the group is R&B, they’ve always had a hip hop slant.
She continued,
“The way we dressed, from the baggy clothes to the door knocker earrings, that’s how a lot of the girls dressed in New York. Hip hop is a culture, not just about rap music. I’m so attached to the culture.”
Lelee, who’s now a published author of “I Regret The Day I Lost My Virginity,” along with her first-born daughter, Margaret Lyons, and son, Khiry Lyons, will allegedly join cast mates, Bow Wow, Da Brat, Waka Flocka & Tammy Rivera, as well as Reginae Carter, to name a few.
As for her kids, Lelee is happy that they’ve identified their gifts and what they wish to pursue. While her son Khiry is pursuing music and Lelee’s daughter Margaret is pursuing management, she says,
“You gotta be passionate about what you do, not for money, not for fame. The passion has to drive you.”
GUHH: Atlanta is a reality show that chronicles the lives of a group of friends, all deriving from Hip Hop royalty.
In February, theJasmineBRAND exclusively reported that Romeo Miller, who was one of the longest-running-castmates, had allegedly quit Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta. A source close to Romeo hinted that his departure may be due to a disagreement with production or the network, which was confirmed when a clip was released of Romeo and his dad, Master P,accusing the network of orchestrating drama.

In the footage, Master P, could be heard saying,
“I showed you what you should put up, and you didn’t you put up what you thought the network wanted to see, and the network changed it. If we’re going to do business, let’s do right business. Because it’s positive stuff that people want to see. We’re going to change the game, after today, we’re going to change how people stereotype us. We’re not about to be arguing with Angela [Simmons], nobody, because we have love for all of them, because that’s what you want to see on TV.”
This will allegedly be the second time that Lelee has joined the WeTV family. She, along with her fellow group members, Cheryl (Coko) Gamble and Tamara (Taj) Johnson, teamed up with the network for a reality show entitled “Reunited” in 2014.
