R. Kelly Allegedly Attacked By Inmate In Jail
Update #1: R. Kelly’s attorney is speaking out, addressing the singer’s attack. See his comments below.

Original Story: Singer R. Kelly has allegedly been attacked while behind bars by another inmate. R. Kelly is currently being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago while awaiting trial on numerous charges of sex abuse against young girls.
The attack allegedly took place while R. Kelly was sitting on his bed when an inmate entered his cell and began punching him.
The inmate was reportedly angry about the correctional facility continuing to go on lockdown numerous times because of R. Kelly protesters outside of the jail. The 6,100 inmates in the jail reportedly had to be on lockdown when R. Kelly moved through the jail when he first turned himself in back in 2019.
No word on how long the fight lasted, or if multiple inmates were involved. Following the incident, R. Kelly was reportedly examined by a doctor and had no major injuries.
R. Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, has declined to discuss the attack.

R. Kelly has been in jail a little more than a year, despite his legal team’s multiple attempts to get him released.
His fans have stepped in and taken matters into their own hands by hitting the streets of Chicago in protest.
Fans were seen carrying a banner that reads,
“Free R. Kelly ‘Due Process’”
Many were also heard chanting,
“Free R. Kelly!”
