R. Kelly Is Petrified & Paranoid After Jail Assault + “He Can’t Sleep” Says Lawyer
R&B singer R. Kelly, was assaulted at the Metropolitan Correctional Center by a fellow inmate just last month and is still dealing with the aftermath of the ordeal. According to R. Kelly’s attorney Nicole Blank Becker, R. Kelly has said,
“Fear and terror have left him petrified and paranoid”
Attorney Becker claims R. Kelly,
“can’t sleep and is now afraid to leave his jail cell during the two hours he’s permitted daily to venture out. His insomnia is serious.”
As previously reported, Jeremiah Shane Farmer has taken responsibility for the attack against R. Kelly. He alleged that he’s a victim of government “corruption” and said the COVID-19 lockdown has deprived him of having a reliable attorney.
Although R. Kelly has requested early release again due to the attack, prosecutors now believe that the threat has been removed citing that was an isolated event, according to reports.
R. Kelly has been held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center since last summer awaiting trial on a series of criminal charges across multiple jurisdictions, including federal indictments in Illinois and New York alleging racketeering, sexual exploitation of children and child pornography, aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Cook County, IL and soliciting a minor and prostitution in Minnesota.
