NFL Quarterback Dwayne Haskins Cut From Washington Team After Seen Partying Without A Mask
Washington football team quarterback Dwayne Haskins is paying a hefty price for a decision to party with a group of women, maskless in a COVID-19 pandemic.
Photos of the star player surfaced online showing him in very close proximity to a female companion and who seems to be another woman stripping, as well as a group of women wearing a #7 jersey, specifically representing Haskins.
A Twitter user posted the photos with the caption,
“Is this Dwayne Haskins? I really hope not. These women are all wearing Washington #7 shirts yesterday and that certainly does look like #7 himself partying maskless last night with strippers after the game.”
Fans of Dwaye Haskins and the team quickly began to chime in. Some giving him a pass while others were also upset about his decision.
For the most part, this seemed to be another case of fans tag-teaming each other on social media, giving their input on whether Dwayne Haskins made the wrong decision or if he deserved the right to party. That was until head coach, Ron Rivera of Washington put out a statement announcing that Haskins had been released from the team.
The post stated,
“This afternoon I met Dwayne and informed him that we would be releasing him. I told him that I believe it benefits both parties that we go our separate ways. We want to thank Dwayne for his contributions these last two seasons and wish him well moving forward.”
Haskins also released his own statement. He wrote,
“My time with the WFT has unfortunately come to an end. I thank the team & fans for the opportunity to play for the team I grew up rooting for.”
The statement went on to say,
“I take full responsibility for not meeting the standards of a NFL QB & will become a better man & player because of this experience.”
