DMX’s Goddaughter, Actress Paige Hurd, Pens Heartfelt Message About Rapper’s Passing
DMX‘s Goddaughter and Power Book II: Ghost, actress Paige Hurd, took to Instagram with a heartfelt post about his recent passing.
On April 2, 2021, DMX [real name Earl Simmons] was rushed to a hospital in White Plains, where he was reported to be in critical condition following a heart attack at his home from a suspected lethal overdose of drugs. After a week of being in critical condition, DMX tragically passed away on April 9th.
Paige Hurd posted a picture of her and DMX, hand in hand, and wrote the caption,
“7 days prior…This was the last time we hugged, we danced, we held hands. The last time we said I love you, and the last time I would ever hear you scream PUMPKINNN.”
She continued:
“When we are together we are inseparable, & we DO NOT play about each-other.”
Paige Hurd goes on to say:
“Shock has been my feeling the past month since I got the worst call in the middle of the night. The shock and grief is heavy, uncomfortable, and hard to express.
In her post, she expressed her unconditional love for her Godfather and apologized for her silence.
“I just don’t have much yet, forgive my silence. I’m trying but right now I don’t have the best words…I love you so much. I’m so proud to be your goddaughter. You are apart of my world and my heart aches terribly these days and will never stop.”

Continuing to send our condolences to DMX’s family and friends.
