Safaree Samuels Reportedly Fears Erica Mena Won’t Allow Him To Be Present For Their Baby’s Birth
It’s been a rollercoaster year for Safaree Samuels‘ relationship with Erica Mena–and the latest development is that he’s afraid he’ll be barred from being in the delivery room as she gives birth.
As previously reported, Erica Mena announced her second pregnancy with her now-estranged husband, Safaree Samuels, in early May.
However, her pregnancy announcement faced immediate backlash due to what transpired in their relationship just a couple of months before. As you may recall, Safaree Samuels claimed their marriage was a mistake, tweeting:
“I mean this from the bottom of my heart getting married was 1 of my BIGGEST mistakes and it will never happen again. I’m walking away before I End up in jail over some dumb s**t. Nobody is worth my freedom!!!”
He issued this tweet in late February, and–as Erica Mena is reportedly due in July–she was around four months pregnant at the time of his statement.
Despite Safaree‘s tweet, the couple remained together for a few more months (hence their aforementioned pregnancy announcement together). However, by late May, Erica decided to file for divorce. Additionally, Erica is reportedly seeking primary custody of their daughter Safire and their unborn child, while Safaree is allegedly seeking joint custody.
Now, Safaree is reportedly afraid that their disagreements will result in him not being allowed in the delivery room with Erica. In legal documents obtained by TMZ, Safaree allegedly claims that he believes the courts should step in to assure that he’ll be allowed to witness the birth. With 2021 being a rocky year for the estranged couple–and with their child reportedly being due next month–Safaree feels like Erica will simply not allow him to be present.
Erica Mena has not directly commented on these allegations. However, on Monday (June 7th), she issued a tweet that could potentially be about the matter, writing:
“I just wanna keep everything good that’s mine in my next chapter all to myself. I will do everything it takes to keep it to myself. I absolutely know I deserve that and more.”
