A GoFundMe has been launched to help support the legal fees of a black woman, Ijeoma Ukenta, who was assaulted and harassed by a white woman, identified as Abigail Elphick, while shopping in a New Jersey’s Victoria’s Secret. Ijeoma Ukenta recently shared online videos of a horrible experience she had while simply trying to redeem a Victoria’s Secret coupon. In the video, Abigail Elphick, who has infamously been nicknamed ‘Victoria’s Secret Karen’ is caught on camera attempting to assault Ijeoma Ukenta. Once Abigail Elphick realized she was being recorded she seemingly faked a panic attack, mental breakdown, and pretended to faint. Abigail also repeatedly screamed at Ijeoma, who continued to record for her own safety, and chased her around the store more than once as she seemingly attempted to harm her.

Eventually, the mall security arrived, however, instead of removing Abigail from the Short Hills Mall they called the Millburn Police Department. The police didn’t seem to be of much help either and claimed they did not have the jurisdiction to remove Abigail despite her dangerous demeanor. Ijeoma Ukenta has shared a six-part video segment online of her entire interaction with Abigail Elphick. In one video she revealed the police report from the incident and pointed out lies Abigail allegedly told the police. Ijeoma said,

“Mind you, they took her statement first because, of course, she called the police. And she completely lied. She’s trying to say I started videotaping her causing her to have a panic attack, at which time, she followed me to try to get me to stop recording.”

Ijeoma added that she plans on filing a complaint against the officers who arrived on the scene and seemingly did nothing to help her.

“So, I’m filing the complaint against the two officers that responded. I didn’t feel protected. I’m also filing a complaint against the mall security.”

So far the GoFundMe that was set up to help Ijeoma Ukenta with any legal fees she may face as she seeks justice has passed its initial goal of $20,000 and is over $78,000.

Victoria’s Secret has released an official statement about the attack on Ijeoma Ukenta and said it will be investigating the situation.
