Bill Cosby Pauses Comedy Tour Ahead Of Sexual Assault Trial
Plans for Bill Cosby’s new comedy tour have come to a halt.
Comedian and actor, Bill Cosby, 84, has reportedly paused his upcoming tour indefinitely as his sexual assault trial draws near.

In 2014, Judy Huth reportedly filed a lawsuit against the comedian alleging that he assaulted her in 1974 when she was just 15 and he was 37.
Cosby denied the allegations but is reportedly still concerned that the press surrounding the case would become the main focus of the tour and therefore best to cancel.
After his 2018 conviction, Bill Cosby was released from prison this year after a judge overturned his conviction and ruled that he did not have a fair trial due to the nonprosecution agreement he had received from a district attorney.

His Cosby Show co-star, Phylicia Rashad,73, recently made headlines for supporting his release to which she received backlash for her comments from fans and family.

After the fallout, Rashad disabled her tweets and issued a statement on her Instagram story saying,
“I fully support survivors of sexual assault coming forward. My post was in no way intended to be insensitive to their truth. Personally, I know from friends and family that such abuse has lifelong residual effects. My heartfelt wish is for healing.”
In May of this year, Phylicia Rashad was named Howard University’s Dean of Fine Arts, to which many wanted her fired from after her tweet.
Many supported Rashad like singer, Stephanie Mills and Power star Naturi Naughton who said we all have our opinions and that the Cosby Show changed lives.

According to his rep, Andrew Whyatt, there is a high demand of promoters seeking interest in Cosby’s tour.
