Chris Rock Reveals He Has COVID-19, Urges Followers To Get Vaccinated + Tina Lawson Criticized For Showing Support: It Will Save Your Life!
Chris Rock and Tina Lawson are encouraging their fans to get vaccinated.
Yesterday (Sunday, Sept. 19th), Chris Rock revealed that he was diagnosed with COVID-19. The 56-year-old comedian shared the news on social media, tweeting:
“Hey guys I just found out I have COVID, trust me you don’t want this. Get vaccinated.”
Shortly after Chris Rock‘s tweet, Beyoncé‘s mother–Tina Lawson–uploaded a screenshot of his tweet to Instagram. She added a photo of Chris Rock along with a lengthy caption, encouraging viewers to get vaccinated for COVID-19:
“Please protect yourself from serious illness and death! It might not stop you from getting it but it but it will help you fight for your life. I have lost too many people I love to this disease!! They didn’t have to die! Nobody is trying to bully you (I’m only saying this and I know I will be facing all of the negative comments and misinformation), but it’s okay I’ll take the backlash, because I care about you. Thanks @chrisrock for caring enough to share, you didn’t have to but you did. [Prayers] for you.”
Shortly after her post, Tina Lawson got a variety of mixed reactions to her caption. She proceeded to respond by commenting:
“Goodness guys I said it did not stop you from getting it. It just keeps the symptoms milder! And it will save your life. Those of you who are saying that there are many cases of people dying that have been vaccinated come on now can you really keep that information out of the press in 2021?? Is that really possible? Think about it for a second, use your common sense & those of you who are saying that corporations are paying Chris Rock and all other celebrities to push the vaccine make absolutely no sense!! Stop the foolishness and lies please.”
