Kelis’ Husband, Mike Mora, Says Doctors Told Him ‘They Couldn’t Do Anything Else For Me’ As He Opens Up About Battle W/ Stomach Cancer

Singer Kelis‘ husband Mike Mora is sharing more about his cancer diagnosis.

As previously reported, Mike Mora revealed that he was battling stage four stomach cancer. In a new post, the photographer shares biopsy results he received from his most recent hospital visit.

On Instagram, he wrote,

“The story continues…So the morning of my last UCLA hospital stay, doctors came in my room and gave me the most horrifying, unexpected news.. I did not understand the language written on this paper. All I knew from the look in their faces was that it wasn’t a good diagnosis.”

He continued,

“It was the worst diagnosis. And they were scared for me. I asked how they were going to help me. They said they couldn’t do anything else for me. I had to search on my for some sort of solution.. Scary days. The story will continue. Love you @kelis.”

Mike Mora has been transparent about his diagnosis, previously revealing that he was told that most patients don’t make it past 18 months. He said,

“That Sunday morning, I remember a lady doctor walking in. And several more. They told me I had gastric adenocarcinoma, in simpler terms – stomach cancer. Stage 4 to make it more exciting. I was told that people with my disease, in this phase, don’t make it past 18 months. It’s been exactly 12.”

In a separate post, he added,

“At just 36, with 3 kiddos, and a wife that loves me. I want to be able to help those that might be experiencing something like this- a life altering disease full of questions and doubt- maybe, hopefully. By showing that it’s possible to make it through. You always see people post about how life is too short. How you should reach out to those you love no matter where life has taken you. It is the truth.”

Kelis and Mora married in 2014 and share two children together. A son named Shepherd Mora and their daughter, Galilee Mora. She has yet to comment on her husband’s condition.
