Fetty Wap Arrested In New York City On Federal Narcotics Charges
Fetty Wap recently found himself in some legal trouble while out and about in New York!
Earlier today (Friday, Oct. 29th), news broke that Fetty Wap (real name Willie Junior Maxwell II) was arrested on federal drug charges recently. The “Wake Up” rapper was detained by FBI agents yesterday (Thursday, Oct. 28th) at Citi Field Stadium in Queens, New York. While he was reportedly taken into custody for drug-related matters, the specifics remain unclear as Fetty Wap‘s indictment has been sealed. However, he’s expected to appear in federal court sometime today (Oct. 29th).
It’s worth noting that–a few hours before his New York City arrest–Fetty Wap uploaded a message to his Instagram story that read:
“Ni**as move cautious never worried [crown and prayer emojis].”
This news is the latest update in what has been a rough year-and-a-half for the 30-year-old rapper. Last May, Fetty Wap was accused of drug abuse and domestic violence by his ex-wife, Leandra Gonzalez. Five months later, Fetty Wap‘s younger brother–Twyshon Depew–died of gunshot wounds in Paterson, New Jersey. The rapper addressed the tragedy on his Instagram Story, writing:
“Stop asking me am I ok…No TF I’m not Ok… I done lost so many n***as that s**t was almost starting to feel normal…but my lil brother man it feel like 2017 all over again this same feeling…I know ya slogan ‘don’t cry for me slide for me’ I just don’t know what ima tell my nephew when he ask me why I ain’t make sure you was ok…”
Then, this past June, Fetty Wap tragically lost his four-year-old daughter, Lauren.
