Elon Musk Will Reverse Donald Trump’s Permanent Twitter Ban If His Purchase Deal Goes Through
According to Elon Musk, Twitter will undergo some major changes if he becomes the platforms majority owner.
In revamping the social media site, the Tesla founder recently stated that reversing former president Donald Trump’s permanent ban sits high on the todo list. In the interview, 50-year-old billionaire Elon Musk confirmed plans to restore Donald Trump‘s voice on Twitter stating:
“I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump, I think that was a mistake….I would reverse the perma-ban.”
The entrepreneur told interviewers he believes it was a mistake to remove the 45th U.S. president. Additionally, Elon expressed his disdain for permanent bans as whole. Reportedly, he stated:
“My opinion, and Jack Dorsey, I want to be clear, shares this opinion, is that we should not have perma-bans….[Perman-bans] should be extremely rare and really reserved for accounts that are bots or spam accounts.”
“There are exceptions … but generally permanent bans are a failure of ours and don’t work”
The disgraced former president was infamously removed from Twitter subsequent the January 6th White House riot. Twitter execs voted to remove Donald from the platform for violating guidelines against inciting violence. Donald Trump was tried in U.S. court for the capitol riot, but was not convicted.

Doubling down on his controversial decision, Elon stated:
“Banning Trump from Twitter didn’t end Trump’s voice, it will amplify it among the right and this is why it’s morally wrong and flat out stupid”
However, he also acknowledged that a Trump return could only happen if his deal with the social media outlet is completed. Elon shocked everyone last month, after announcing his bid to purchase Twitter for $54.20 a share, totaling over $44 billion dollars. Reportedly, some financing aspects of the purchase are still in the works.
Donald has previously stated that he has no intentions to resurrect the account that once boasted over 79 million followers. Instead, Donald says he’s pouring all of his energy into his social platform Truth Social.
