‘Basketball Wives’ Star Brittish Williams Denied Request To Travel Internationally For Filming, Ordered To Surrender Passport Amid Federal Fraud Investigation

Reality star Brittish Williams will not be joining her castmates in Mexico for their next round of Basketball Wives filming.

According to a report from Radar Online, Brittish Williams, 32, was recently hit with a rejection letter by a court judge after asking to travel for work. As previously reported, the media personality was indicted on federal fraud charges in October of last year, and is still part of the ongoing trial.

Reportedly, Brittish’s attorney’s claimed in the official filings that she isn’t a flight risk. Adding that unnecessarily preventing the TV figure from filming harms her and the show. The court document read:

“Ms. Williams is gainfully employed. She has present emails from the producer showing exactly when she will be traveling to and from Mexico and what will be filmed during that travel. There is no legitimate concern that Ms. Williams would be a flight risk while traveling for work on tickets arranged by the production company.”

Then continued”

 

“There is no need for any unnecessary obstacle to that work in this instance … the inability to participate in this filming harms the show and the defendant’s legitimate employment.”

Lawyers for the Marriage Boot Camp star have previously stated they believe Brittish is being harshly targeted due to her celebrity status. They stated:

“We do believe that Ms. Williams was targeted in part because of her celebrity….At this point, the government has not produced or turned over any evidence to us, so we can’t speak to specifics, but we believe when we do look at it, it will reveal that she was targeted because of her celebrity, and what she did was lawful.”

However, the judge was reportedly all but amenable. Reports state that the court official not only denied the request, but subsequently ordered Brittish to surrender her passport in 24hrs. The federal trial is still ongoing.

Brittish, who recently returned as a cast member for the latest season of , faces a charge of of social security number misuse, four charges of bank fraud, three charges of making false statements to the IRS, three charges of wire fraud, and three charges of aggravated identity theft. Allegedly, the entrepreneur used forged documents to illegally access a number of bank loans and lines of credit.

Additionally, the IRS alleges Brittish falsely claimed her niece and nephew on her taxes to receive more money back. The reality star maintains her innocence, pleading not guilty to all charges.
