French Montana Says There Is No Kardashian Curse, Admits When Dating One of The Sisters The Media Pays Less Attention To Your Talent

French Montana took a walk down memory lane.

In a recent interview, rapper French Montana reflects on surviving  “the Kardashian curse.” French Montana, 37, says:

“I was basically saying it like, you know, there is no curse. That’s why I’m still doing my thing. I think that’s what I was saying in the song. I was like ‘there is no curse, so i’m doing my thing.’”

French continues:

“And Travis doing his thing, you know. I just feel like, you know, and shoutout to them. I just feel like, when you go out with them, or have a relationship with them or anybody at they caliber, I feel like that, you know, the media start picking up on your relationship life and forget about your, you know, your talent life. You know what I’m saying? Your music life, your acting life, or whatever it is.”

French adds: 

“It overshadows everything. You become this reality star, well that’s not really the goal. You know what I’m saying? You could be playing basketball, you could be doing whatever it is. It takes away from your game when they be like ‘yo, this guy is now, this this-’ cause he go out with ‘this, this’ you know what I’m saying? So that label just changed.”

As previously reported, French dropped a new song “Alcatraz.” On the track, French mentions rapper Kanye West and what fans speculated to be the “Kardashian curse.” French recites:

“I feel like Ye through the car crash / Feel like Ye ’cause me and Ye killed the curse from the Kardashians.”

In 2014, the 37-year-old dated Good American owner, Khloe Kardashian, 37, for less than a year and appeared on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”

During their break-up rumors surfaced that rap mogul Trina got in the way of Khloe Kardashian and French’s relationship.

French talks about his plans on settling down. The rapper says:

“Honestly, I just feel like, I can’t give whoever it is the time they want ‘cause I’m just so focused on doing what I’m doing.”

French continues:

“And I know some of them be like ‘nah, you know, you need somebody to ride with you and be there with you’ until they right there with you and you be like ‘yo, I gotta go on these 30 day, you know what I’m saying, shows’ and this and that, after club. It’s like, it’s hard, and you wanna give somebody your all when you go out with them and I don’t feel like I’m in that space right now.”

French reflects being in love. He says:

“Yeah. I been in love before.”

The rapper also admits getting heartbroken. He continues:

“Yeah of course. Plenty of times. You gotta go through that early because if you go through that late, you know what I’m saying, you don’t wanna be going through no heartbreaks after you 30. You ain’t gonna know how to handle it.”

French says when dating he has no intentions on breaking a woman’s heart. French adds:

“Nah I really don’t. I really dont. They know what it is, you know what I’m saying, usually just be you know, a lil tap kiss and I keep going.”
