La Toya Jackson’s Ex-Fiancé, Who Is Being Sued By Michael Jackson’s Estate For Allegedly Stealing His Deathbed Pajamas, Claims They Encountered The Late Entertainer’s Spirit At Their Home
Is Michael Jackson reaching out to people from beyond the grave?
Producer Jeffre Phillips is being sued by the Michael Jackson estate for allegedly stealing the clothes Michael Jackson wore on his deathbed and it seems the late entertainer may want his things back. According to reports, Jeffre Phillips told associates that he and his former fiancée La Toya Jackson, Michael’s sister, encountered Michael’s spirit numerous times at their home.
The estate claimed Jeffre Phillips stayed in the pop star’s home following his death. During his extended visit, Phillips allegedly took clothes, handwritten notes, a briefcase with business and personal letters, Michael’s driver’s license, and iPhones belonging to Michael and his children.
On Friday (June 24) lawyers alleged in court filings that Phillips also apprehended a resuscitator tube that was used on Michael when authorities tried to save his life in June 2009 after he overdosed at the age of 50 and died of cardiac arrest.
Phillips and La Toya Jackson claimed that Michael’s ghost visited their home in a theatrical fashion.
A source said:
“They said Michael visited them dressed in the white pearl beads that Michael wore when he was laid to rest.”
The source said the former couple claimed:
“‘The lights were out, and Michael appeared in the curtains.’ It was just his face, and then he began to move.’”
The source added:
“His eyes were open and he appeared peaceful, but then he vanished. He came again, and this time, it revealed more of him – down to his shoulders.”
The insider then said La Toya shared she instructed her deceased brother to turn the lights on and asked him,
“Michael, do you wish to go to the other side?”
La Toya allegedly added:
“If you are here, let me know. Flick the lights or something.”
According to her, Michael followed instructions and turned the lights on and off.
A source explained the former couple boasted about their weird encounters with Michael’s alleged presence.
The estate told a Los Angeles court that they received a tip-off in December 2021 that Phillips was attempting to auction off the items belonging to “The Man In The Mirror” singer. The auction house reached out to the estate to verify Michael’s items. Informing them that they had a pair of Michael’s sunglasses that still contained make-up from his face the last time he wore it. The estate retrieved some of the items Phillips has been accused of stealing but they believe he still is in possession of home videos and written music by Michael.
The estate requested the court order Phillips to return all property he allegedly took. The producer hasn’t commented on the allegation and he remains close friends with La Toya after their two-year engagement ended.
