Chris Rock Finally Addresses Being Slapped By Will Smith At This Year’s Oscars: I’m Not A Victim
Chris Rock wants fans to know he’s “not a victim!”
According to reports, Chris Rock finally addressed being slapped by Will Smith at this year’s Oscars ceremony during a recent stand-up set in Holmdel, New Jersey. The comedian reportedly told the crowd:
“I’m not a victim, motherf**ker. Yeah, that shit hurt, mother**ker. … But I shook that sh*t off and went to work the next day.”
Chris Rock reportedly then went on to joke that he doesn’t go to the hospital “for a papercut.”
According to sources, Rock is said to have jokingly called the King Richard Oscar winner “Suge Smith.”

As previously reported, Will Smith stormed the Academy Awards stage on March 27 and slapped Chris Rock following an insensitive joke made about his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith’s shaved head, which she rocks as a result of an alopecia condition. Chris Rock said,
“Jada, can’t wait for G.I. Jane 2.”
Smith then walked back to his seat and shouted at the comedian to keep his wife’s name out of his
“f*cking mouth.”

On March 28, Will Smith issued a public apology to both Chris Rock and the Academy on his Instagram account. This has been Smith’s only statement on the matter.
“Will is apologetic, you know, he’s in a better space, of course, than what he was after. People are human and as humans sometimes we make mistakes. So it’s not about talking about the past, it’s about acknowledging the present and doing your best to move forward.”

He continued,
“I can get only hope that the two of them find a way to find some solace in that and move past it. I just like good energy. I love to see people be the best.”
Chris Rock is currently on his Ego Death World Comedy Tour and has been co-headlining a mini-tour with Kevin Hart.
