Kenya Moore asked in shock:
“Why?”
The 46-year-old said:
“Well, that new wave of omicron, it hit the cast, right? And so, basically we had to shut the show down for at least 10 days.”
Kenya Moore added:
“That can bankrupt the show.”
Kandi replied:
“It was gonna bankrupt the show so we had to basically just shut it down.”
Kenya, 51, couldn’t believe it. She said:
“Wow.”
In a confessional Kandi shared:
“We did everything we could, and it’s like you feel like you failed.”
Drew Sidora, 37, said:
“Yeah you can’t control COVID. It’s just been tough all around.”

Kandi replied:
“It was just crazy because so many people had great things to say about the show, then when this happened, it’s just, it took us down!”
During another confessional scene, Kandi became emotional as she expressed why her play getting shut down hurt her so much. She said:
“To me, I am a Black woman. You know, I come from a single parent home. I did not have money handed to me but people just look at me as everything that I’ve done. It’s like ‘oh everything just happens for her.’ It doesn’t just happen, these are things that I have to work for my whole life I feel like. I want to make it happen because I know it’s not just for me. It was more of trying to even the playing field for African Americans who are creators and want to be on Broadway.”
Kenya showed Kandi sympathy. She said:
“I’m sorry. I didn’t even hear about it.”
Kandi added:
“I been feeling really ‘blah.’”
