Nappy Roots Musician Fish Scales Shot Amid Being Robbed & Kidnapped At His Atlanta Brewery
Atlanta’s popular Nappy Roots member was robbed, kidnapped and shot at a restaurant he co-owns.

According to reports, two suspects robbed a customer in Atlantucky Brewing’s parking lot, then went into the restaurant and forced rapper Fish Scales, born Melvin Adams, into his vehicle at gunpoint. Atlanta police stated that the suspects drove off with Fish Scales and headed towards his home in Hapeville. Fish Scales was shot in the leg shortly after he was able to escape. The 45-year-old remains in stable condition as police search for the two suspects.
Following the incident members of Nappy Roots state that Scales is ‘planning to get back to work as soon as possible,’ adding that there was no damage done to the restaurant and the suspects robbery was unsuccessful.
Nappy Roots member Skinny said:
“I am certainly relieved that my business partner and brother Scales is safe and recovering…that is what is most important.”
Skinny, born William Hughes, continued:
“We are certainly also praying for the patron who was shot outside the establishment.”
The group stated in a press release that this is the only incident that appeared at their business since it opened and plan to increase their security measures.
