WNBA Star Skylar Diggins-Smith Reveals She’s Pregnant w/ Baby #2

Skylar Diggins-Smith’s family is about to get a little bit bigger!

Earlier today (Oct. 17) the WNBA star announced she and her husband, Daniel Smith are expecting their second child. In an IG post showing off her growing baby bump, the Phoenix Mercury point guard said,

“New addition loading [orange heart emoji].”

According to reports, Skylar Diggins-Smith played the entire 2018 season while pregnant with her first child — when she was with the Dallas Wings. The 6-time WNBA All-Star initially hid her pregnancy from everyone. After she revealed the news, in October 2019, she shared via Twitter,

“I played the ENTIRE season pregnant last year!”

“All-star, and led league (top 3-5) in MPG….didn’t tell a soul.”

The WNBA season is slated to kick off May 6 and, as of now, it’s unclear Skylar’s plans for this upcoming season.

Skylar isn’t the only Phoenix Mercury player making headlines. As recently reported, Brittney Griner’s Russian prison conditions were revealed by her legal team. As you may already know, today marks 8 months since Brittney Griner was initially detained in Russia on alleged drug smuggling charges.

According to her lawyer, she is in a “nightmare” pre-trial detention center named Correctional Colony No.1 and is serving her time in brutal conditions. Reports state the penal colony, located 1hr outside of Moscow, forces inmates to remain in their “tiny” cells 23hrs out of the day, only allowing 1hr outside for a walk around the courtyard. Additionally, her lawyer adds that the detention center only allows showers twice per week. Griner was sentenced to 9 years behind bars but has an appeal hearing scheduled for the 25th of this month.
