Metro Boomin Delays ‘Heroes & Villains’ Album But Shuts Down Speculation Of It Being Due To Competitors: I Would Never Move My Album Date Because Of Anyone Else
Well, it looks like hitmaker Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains album won’t be booming its way through our speakers next week after all.
According to Metro Boomin, everything didn’t exactly pan out the way that it was supposed to for the forthcoming project, and because of that, his fans are having to wait just a little while longer.
Yesterday (Oct. 26), he took to his Twitter account to share with the fans that Heroes & Villains would now be released a month after its initial drop date.

Metro Boomin wrote in the announcement tweet:
“I couldn’t get all the samples on my album cleared in time for next week so I’m dropping on Dec 2nd now so I have enough time to make sure you all get this masterpiece as intended.”
The 29-year-old continued,
“I promise it’s worth the wait!! P.S. I would NEVER move my album date because of anyone else.”

Heroes & Villains will serve as the second solo endeavor by Boomin and was originally scheduled for Nov. 4. However, despite Boomin’s claims of having issues with failed sample clearances, the setback has raised a lot of eyebrows. Many are speculating that the anticipated project was postponed due to Drake and 21 Savage’s joint album, Her Loss, now in place to debut on Nov. 4.
If you didn’t know, Drake and 21 Savage’s collaborative effort was supposed to hit everyone’s playlists on Friday (Oct. 28), but their producer, Noah “40” Shebib, is currently battling COVID-19, which halted the roll-out.

So, of course, the delay is suspect to some. But… Boomin is sticking by the fact that it just isn’t ready yet.
In the caption of his recent Instagram post (where he uploaded a screenshot of his tweet), he added,
“I’d rather drop a few weeks late than take any songs off of this complete body of work.”
Ahead of Heroes & Villain’s old due date, just the other day, Boomin expressed his excitement for the album and what it meant to him.

Without a doubt, supporters of Boomin will certainly be (impatiently) waiting for Dec. 2 to come. Until then, it looks like we’ll have to keep Not All Heroes Wear Capes on repeat.
Born Leland Tyler Wayne, Metro Boomin is deemed one of the most successful producers in the music game right now.
Along with having previous credits on hits for Drake and 21 Savage, the rap-beat surgeon is known for working with a number of other leading talents in the Hip-Hop game, including Young Thug, Future, Migos, 21 Savage, and Gucci Mane, among others.
He’s also partly responsible for Post Malone’s “Congratulations,” featuring Quavo, which is now certified Diamond.
