Reggae Artist Sizzla Destroys Platinum Plaques He Received For DJ Khaled’s ‘Grateful’ & ‘Father Of Asahd’ Albums After Seemingly Feeling Disrespected By The Producer: You Insulted Jamaica
Reggae icon Sizzla (also known as Sizzla Kalonji) doesn’t necessarily think DJ Khaled is the best in his book right now!
Earlier today (Dec. 8) Sizzla went live from his Instagram account and showed himself demolishing the platinum plaques he’d been sent for DJ Khaled’s albums, ‘Grateful’ (2017) and ‘Father of Asahd’ (2019).

For those who don’t know, Sizzla is credited as a featured artist on the intro “I’m So Grateful” for ‘Grateful’ and the track “Holy Mountain” from ‘Father of Asahd.’
The now-viral footage, which is currently split up into three videos on Sizzla’s platform, captured the 46-year-old unpackaging the RIAA certifications and propping them against a brick wall before ripping into each of the framed accomplishments… literally.
From there, he then decided to remove the images of DJ Khaled’s son, Asahd, that were plastered across the artwork for each of the projects as he prepared to light the awards on fire.

DJ Khaled
It’s unclear what (exactly) sparked Sizzla’s sudden retaliation against the We the Best Music founder, but some believe that it’s due to his recognition placed in fine print on the plaque.
This accusation was prompted during the broadcast when the camera was zoned in on Sizzla’s name, which was well under Khaled’s. However, that has not been confirmed.

Sizzla can also be heard alleging that Khaled “insulted him” and Jamaica, as his entourage gathered around and watched the plaques go up in flames.
He said, getting ready to toss the mailing contents in the blazing fire,
“Ready? Oh, DJ Khaled, man, you insulted me, man. You insult[ed] Jamaica.”
Near the end of the clip, Sizzla held up the cut-out photos of a young Asahd, who he’d previously referred to as “The Boss,” and said that he would (instead) be hanging those up in his studio.
He announced while turning to a member of his crew:
“I’d rather accept this as my plaque, man. Babies are innocent. This is my Godchild right here, okay? Rasta forever. Put this in my studio, please.”

Reggae artiste Sizzla Kalonji destroying a plaque reportedly sent to him by @djkhaled's team to commemorate recent album being certified platimum.
Kalonji's followers say they need a magnifying glass to recognize his name on the plaque.

Of course, Sizzla’s actions have come as a shock to most, seeing as though he was just alongside Khaled in his visual for “TSKMN (These Streets Know My Name),” which also highlighted fellow Jamaican collaborators Skillibeng, Buju Banton, Capleton, and Bounty Killer.
