Skai Jackson Trends Over Negative Feedback For Newly Surfaced ‘Gossip Girl’ Reboot Audition Tape, Actress Responds: I Have Two Movies Coming Out In 2023, It’s Okay Y’all

Skai Jackson wants ya’ll to put some respect on her name!

It’s no secret that Skai Jackson grew up in the spotlight. The 20-year-old actress landed her first major acting role in the 2007 independent film “Liberty Kid,” she was only five at the time. Since then, Skai Jackson has gone on to appear in many projects, with her most recognizable role, to date, being Zuri Ross in the Disney Channel sitcom “Jessie.” For the part, Skai received her first Image Award nomination.

Yesterday (Dec. 12) the actress found herself trending after her audition tape for the role of Zoya Lott in the “Gossip Girl” revival surfaced online. The part ultimately went to Whitney Peak, 19. As you may already know, the series “Gossip Girl” – which initially ran from 2007 until 2012 – was rebooted last year by HBO Max.

In her audition tape, a seemingly younger Skai wears a black top as she stands in front of grey curtains and channels her inner Zoya.

Despite being a vet in the entertainment industry, it seems like the vast majority of social media users aren’t here for Skai’s “Gossip Girl” performance. One Twitter user said:

“skai jackson getting her audition tape for gossip girl reboot leaked is so funny”

Another chimed in:

“ignoring that skai jackson audition tape on the tl…not gonna drag a sister on this good evening”

Someone else added:

“who do i need to pay to get that skai jackson gossip girl reboot audition reel wiped from the internet ?? i can’t stand to see my sister being dragged like this”

However, it’s important to note that some did come to Skai’s defense, one social media user said:

“It’s so wild to me that grown ass 40+yr old “ADULTS” are really sitting here talking shit about a child actress? like not only are y’all not a famous celebrity/actor but you’re also not making that kinda money… & if you are, post your audition tapes. I wanna see something”

Skai Jackson also wasted no time defending herself. She took to Twitter and said,

That tape was 4 and a half years old, they also gave me no description of character, project and said I was playing a younger age. Y’all tweets having me laughing tho [laughing emojis] I have two movies coming out in 2023, it’s okay y’all”
