Common & Jennifer Hudson Reportedly Dating After Portraying On-Screen Lovers In Upcoming Movie

Common and Jennifer Hudson just might have gone from Hollywood besties to real-life lovers!

As previously reported, longtime friends Common and Jennifer Hudson were (seemingly) spotted on an “intimate dinner date” in Philadelphia last July.

According to a source, they were boo’d up and shared a few “cozy” laughs over a delicious meal, which then sparked rumors of an alleged romance. As if that wasn’t enough to seal the deal of a “CoJen” love affair, some time after that, Common was said to have pulled up to Jennifer Hudson’s annual back-to-school drive in their hometown, Chicago.

However, although things looked to be quite steamy between the two, when later speaking of the restaurant interaction with her ‘Breathe’ co-star, Hudson indicated that it was nothing more than two buddies grabbing a bite to eat while filming the upcoming action-thriller movie.

She said in an interview,

“People create their narratives of it, and it’s like, ‘Okay, you know… how you feel.’ We shot a film together and he played my husband. We gotta eat in between those moments.”

But… of course, whispers of the assumed pair’s budding courtship strengthened when Common took his support for the songstress’ new talk show, ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show,’ to social media.

This past September, he wrote in a post:

“Congratulations [Jennifer Hudson] on the birth of The Jennifer Hudson show. You looked amazing up there. So Pure. So True. And really really moving. And above all, so Chicago! YES YES. Chicago move on 4ever! Blessings!”

A month ago, the ‘Resurrection’ rapper was also seen stopping by the set of her daytime phenomenon. Now, insiders are claiming that there’s a reason for that!

Informants close to the suspected couple revealed that Common and Hudson have actually been friends for a while now, but their connection took a passionate shift amid the production of ‘Breathe’ in the summer of 2022.

They disclosed,

“Things took a romantic turn while they were filming in Philadelphia over the summer. When the day’s shoot wrapped, they’d always find their way to each other’s side.”

Allegedly, the ‘Dreamgirls’ actress and ‘Just Wright’ actor have decided to keep things at a “light” pace and under wraps for now, as they continue to enjoy each other’s company.

“They’ve kept up their communication since shooting the movie. They get together whenever their schedules allow.”

The source added:

“Of course, [Common’s] known as a total flirt. But Jennifer feels there’s no harm in that, and she’s having fun.”

As you may know, Common is no stranger to his personal life hitting the public. The 50-year-old has been infamously known for being romantically linked to a few industry baddies, such as Erykah Badu, Serena Williams, Taraji P. Henson, Angela Rye, and more recently, ‘Girls Trip’ star/comedienne Tiffany Haddish.

Common and Tiffany Haddish began dating in 2020 but unfortunately split after nearly two years together. Initially, Common attributed their breakup to busy schedules taking a toll on their bond, but Tiffany Haddish wasn’t too fond of his recount of the situation. In a previous interview, she stated:

“I was disappointed. I was very disappointed. I was like, ‘Oh, okay. ‘Cause that’s not what you told me, but okay.'”

As for Hudson, the 41-year-old singer got engaged to professional wrestler/former reality TV personality David Otunga in 2008. Ultimately, the once-lovebirds went their separate ways in 2017. Together, they share a son.
