Rihanna’s Spotify Streams Spike 640% After Super Bowl Halftime Show, Singer Reportedly Has ‘No Update’ For When She’ll Be Dropping New Music
Rihanna said that she “doesn’t have an update” on new music despite her individual song streams receiving a 640% boost in the hour after the Super Bowl game ended.
As you may know, on Sunday (February 12) the pop international superstar put on an outstanding (unpaid) performance during the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl game. During her now-viral halftime show, Rihanna shocked the world by confirming she’s expecting her second baby with boyfriend A$AP Rocky. The pair welcomed their first child together in May 2022.
According to reports, Rihanna’s hit solo tracks spiked as much as 2,600%, and her overall U.S. Spotify streams received an impressive 640% lift following Sunday’s Super Bowl 2023 halftime show.
Reportedly, streams of Rihanna’s opening track “B*tch Better Have My Money” increased by more than 2,600% in the U.S. “Diamonds” was up by more than 1,400% in the U.S., “Rude Boy” increased by more than 1,170% in the U.S., and “We Found Love” was up by more than 1,160% in the U.S.

Despite the notable music spike, the soon-to-be mother-of-two said she has “no update” on when she’ll be dropping new music.
In a new interview on “Good Morning America,” Rihanna told the show host that she knows her fans want “more,” according to reports. The Grammy-winning singer admitted,
“They are waiting. I’m excited to actually put new music out, but I don’t have any updates for you on that yet.”
Aside from releasing “Lift Me Up” for the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack in November 2022, the businesswoman has not released any new songs.
The latest update on any new music from Rihanna doesn’t come to much of a surprise since the 34-year-old debuted her baby bump in a head-to-toe red outfit over the weekend.
As previously reported, Arizona’s State Farm Stadium cheered as Rihanna opened up her epic performance singing her hit single “B*tch Better Have My Money” on a gravitating stage. The nine-time Grammy Award winner, who was styled in a baggy red scarlet jumpsuit, sent the stadium and almost 200 million home viewers into a frenzy as they spotted her rubbing her stomach while on stage.
For her latest performance, Rihanna was only given 13 minutes to perform. Her lineup included “Where Have You Been,” “Only Girl (In The World),” “We Found Love,” “Rude Boy,” “Work,” “Wild Thoughts,” and “Pour It Up.”
The hitmaker made seemingly controversial song choices, including a piece of her verse from the rapper Kanye West’s “All Of The Lights,” and a part of Jay-Z’s “Run This Town,” which also features Kanye West in its original version. Rihanna concluded her performance with “Umbrella,” reportedly originally written for Britney Spears, and then “Diamonds” as the closer.
