Tiger Woods Slams $30M Lawsuit Claiming He Wrongfully Evicted His Ex From His Home & Sexually Assaulted Her, Says She’s Just A ‘Jilted Ex-Girlfriend’
Tiger Woods is shutting down his former girlfriend’s claim that she is a victim of sexual assault and says she’s just a “jilted ex-girlfriend.”
According to reports, billionaire golfer Tiger Woods slammed his ex-girlfriend, Erica Herman, after she argued in court filings that the NDA (non-disclosure agreement) she signed in 2017 should be tossed out due to allegations of sexual abuse.
According to Herman, the federal Speak Out Act — which cancels out an NDA if a dispute involving sexual assault or sexual harassment arises following the initial agreement — should make the contract invalid.
Monday morning (Mar. 13) the golfing legend reportedly filed his own court documents in response to Erica Herman’s claims, and he isn’t here for what she’s alleging.
According to reports, Tiger Woods says Erica Herman has no right to invoke the federal statute because she hasn’t previously alleged abuse or offered up any proof of such claims in her filings.
In addition, Woods reportedly notes that in the $30 million lawsuit Herman filed, — where she alleged the golf star kicked her out of their home and broke an “oral tenancy agreement” they had — she checked the box for “NO” when asked, “does this case involve allegations of sexual abuse.”
Woods’ filing reportedly reads,
“Ms. Herman is a not a victim of sexual assault or abuse sought to be protected by Congress when enacting the statute.”
It continues,
“Rather, Ms. Herman is a jilted ex-girlfriend who wants to publicly litigate specious claims in court, rather than honor her commitment to arbitrate disputes in a confidential arbitration proceeding.”
According to Woods, Herman is trying to use the federal law as a way to get around a clause in their NDA, which calls for any legal disputes between the pair to be settled in private and not in court.
Woods says,
“Ms. Herman’s position is utterly meritless. It is a transparent abuse of the judicial process that undermines the purpose of the federal statute and those whom the statute seeks to protect.”
Recent reports state that Woods is now asking a Florida court to force Herman to abide by the NDA’s arbitration provisions.
As previously reported, Herman — who dated Woods for six years — is suing the athlete’s trust for $30 million, alleging he wrongfully evicted her out of his Hobe Sound, Florida home. Before breaking up last fall, the former couple lived together in the Florida residence throughout most of the time they were together. According to Herman, 38, she conducted “valuable services” for Woods, 47, in exchange for living in the home rent-free.
Unfortunately, Herman doesn’t have her claims in writing but said their deal was an “oral tenancy agreement,” which was supposed to be valid for an additional five years.
However, Herman says that the pro golfer persuaded her to pack a suitcase for a short vacation, which didn’t include him. Upon arrival at the airport, she was allegedly told she’d been “locked out” of the house and could not go back.
