Jamie Foxx Explains Why He Chose Not To Update On His Medical Condition In First Video Since Mystery Illness Hospitalization: ‘I Didn’t Want You To See Me w/Tubes Running Out Of Me’
Actor Jamie Foxx is finally speaking out about his recent medical scare.
Posting his first video since falling ill earlier this year, the TV and film star shared his many thanks, and spoke briefly on dealing with something he thought he would “never ever go through”.
In the video, Jamie Foxx, 55, welled with gratitude while thanking supporters for their thoughts and prayers and explained a bit about the health scare. In case you’re unfamiliar, the unknown health issues has kept the actor from work and out of the media for the past several months. As we covered back in April, fans everywhere shared their concern after Foxx’s daughter Corrine revealed he was hospitalized due to a “medical complication”.
Not really disclosing any details during the entirety of his hospital stay, Corrine only updated on her father’s situation to shoot down reports that the actor’s health was failing and that he might not make it. Foxx directly addressed this in his recent video as well, explaining that was the very reason he chose not to publicly speak on what happened during his initial road to recovery. He stated in the video:
“I just didn’t want you to see me like that. I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, a television show. I just didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”
Adding:
“To be honest with you my sister Deidra Dixon my daughter Corrine Marie saved my life. To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people I’m able to leave you this video,”
Foxx also took a moment to react to rumors that spread as a result of he and his family keeping the situation “air tight”. Jokingly crossing his eyes back and forth, the “They Cloned Tyrone” star confirmed that he’s neither blind nor paralyzed. He also joked about speculations that he’s been cloned. After being spotted out and about earlier this month, internet users debated whether or not they were seeing images of “the real Jamie Foxx” or not.
Jokingly motioning as if he was going to pull a fake mask off, Foxx hit viewers with the “just kidding”, adding:
“Not cloned man but I’m here on earth because of great people…and because of God….I’m on my way back and love.”
Foxx also confirmed that he’ll indeed be back to work soon, which aligns with recent reports about his production endeavors. Back on the 11th of this month, reports stated that Foxx is gearing up to produce a documentary on the life of R&B singer Luther Vandross. Additionally, he and his daughter Corrine have reportedly been announced as the hosts of an upcoming game show.
All in all, it seems Foxx is doing much better and ready to get back to work! Many of the actors friends, family, and fans everywhere showed their unconditional love for him in the comments section of his video, wishing him well as he enters back into the world of media and entertainment.
