Tina Knowles & Richard Lawson’s Previous Couple Interview Resurfaces Amid News Of Their Separation, Fans Claim ‘The Writings Were On The Wall’
Another celebrity couple has called it quits and many are claiming they saw the breakup coming a mile away!
The internet appears to not be shocked by the news that Tina Knowles – mother to famous entertainers Beyoncé and Solange – has filed for divorce from actor Richard Lawson.
As you may recall, the former love birds married in 2015, and their wedding photos went viral. However, since news of their separation became public last night (Jul. 26) many have said they’re not shocked by the breakup, mainly because of a recently resurfaced interview. In the footage, Tina Knowles said she prayed for the type of man she wanted and received “pretty much that.”
She added,
“Is he perfect? Absolutely not, but he has a lot of qualities –”
A disappointed Richard Lawson cut his then-wife off and questioned “No?”
To which she rolled her eyes and replied “No” before finishing her remarks.

Fans also noticed that Tina wasted no time changing her name on Instagram back to Tina Knowles. However, at this moment, the official handle is still @mstinalawson.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Tina filed for divorce on Wednesday citing irreconcilable differences, and listed their date of separation as Tuesday (Jul. 25). She reportedly wants the court to terminate the chance for either party to receive spousal support. She’s also asked for her name to be changed from Celestine Knowles-Lawson back to Celestine Knowles.
As expected, many have taken to the internet to share opinions on the resurfaced interview and the news of Tina and Richard’s pending divorce.
