Jamie Foxx Trends As Social Media Users Slam Jennifer Aniston For Saying She ‘Doesn’t Understand’ Cancel Culture, Weeks After Condemning Foxx Over Post Mislabeled As Antisemitic
The internet is calling out actress Jennifer Aniston.
Following a recent cover interview where she criticized the idea of cancel culture, social media users quickly reminded the actress how she recently encouraged it towards Janie Foxx.
According to reports, Jennifer Aniston, 54, shared that she doesn’t “understand” cancel culture due to its lack of allowing people to be redeemed. She reportedly said during the interview:
“[I’m] so over cancel culture…I probably just got canceled by saying that,”

Adding:
“I just don’t understand what it means.… Is there no redemption?”
Her remarks quickly caught the attention of internet users, who pointed out how the TV star seemingly attempted to have fellow actor Jamie Foxx, 55, canceled. As we previously covered, the “They Cloned Tyrone” actor received some backlash after referring to the death of Jesus Christ while venting about fake friends. The movie star wrote in a since-deleted post:
“THEY KILLED THIS DUDE NAME JESUS… WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY’LL DO TO YOU???! #fakefriends #fakelove”

Some felt the rhetoric resembled anti-semitism, interpreting the “they” Foxx used as referring to Jews – who have been persecuted for the belief that their ancestors are responsible for Jesus’ death. The situation caused the Oscar-winning actor to issue an apology. Though many, like political commentator Candace Owens, defended Foxx, stating the post was clearly taken out of context and that he shouldn’t have been bullied into apologizing.

Aniston entered the mix when followers noticed she liked Foxx’s post. The “Friends” star was quick to address the situation, however, alleging she didn’t like the upload on purpose, and harshly rejects any form of antisemitic or hateful statements. In a post shared to her Instagram Stories, she wrote:
“This really makes me sick. I did not ‘like’ this post on purpose or by accident. And more importantly, I want to be clear to my friends and anyone hurt by this showing up in their feeds — I do NOT support antisemitism. And I truly don’t tolerate HATE of any kind. Period.”

Following her recent condemnation of cancel culture, social media users highlighted that Aniston clearly comprehends what the cultural implications mean. One user, like many others, wrote:
“Weren’t you trying to cancel Jamie Foxx three weeks ago?”

While another added:
“She just threw Jamie Foxx under the bus like a month ago.. hollywood is insane”

Many others reacted to Aniston’s comments as well, mirroring the same exact sentiments.

It does not seem that Foxx nor Aniston have made any further comments regarding the matter at this time.
