NBA Player Anthony Edwards Issues Apology After Woman Claims He Paid Her $100,000 To Get An Abortion: ‘Women Should Be Supported & Empowered To Make Their Own Decisions About Their Bodies’
NBA player Anthony Edwards is speaking out after an Instagram model claimed he pressured her to get an abortion.
A woman who goes by the name Paige Jordae on Instagram recently outed Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards for allegedly forcing her to terminate her pregnancy. In a series of screenshots of their alleged text exchange, Paige Jordae — who has more than a million followers across her Instagram accounts — shared screenshots of the 22-year-old athlete expressing his desire for her not to have his baby.

The social media star posted the alleged text conversation between her and Anthony Edwards via her IG stories, which appeared to show her sending the basketball shooting guard a photo of a positive pregnancy test. As a response, Edwards followed with,
“H*ll nawl can’t do this.”
According to the alleged texts, Edwards then told the woman to get an abortion because he didn’t want a child.

The professional athlete also appeared to offer the model money in exchange for providing video proof of her taking “the right” abortion pills.

Additionally, the released screenshots included an invoice for a wire transfer of $100,000 allegedly sent from Edwards to Paige Jordae.

In another IG story post, Jordae accused Edwards of manipulating her after attempting to handle the matter in private. She wrote,
“I’ve never once ran to the internet about NO ONE I tried over and over to handle this privately and my efforts were ignored”
Jodae added,
“I’ve been lied to and manipulated by someone who knows exactly what they’re doing and takes no accountability for anything”

In a statement made to X (formerly known as Twitter), Edwards seemingly took accountability for his actions. The All-Star guard said,
“I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me, and that are not aligned with what I believe and who I want to be as a man.”
Edwards concluded,
“All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them. I am handling my personal matters privately and will not be commenting on them any further at this time.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the situation, it’s noted that the abortion and Edwards’ statement comes just four days after his long-time girlfriend — Jeanine Robel — announced she was pregnant.

Jeanine Robel also shares a child with rapper Chief Keef, according to reports.
