Scottie Pippen Accused Of Abuse By Ex-Girlfriend In $250 Million Lawsuit, Woman Claims She Reached Out To Chicago Bulls For Help But The Organization Demonstrated A ‘Blatant Disregard For The Law & Basic Human Decency’
NBA champion Scottie Pippen is at the center of some serious allegations.
The Chicago Bulls organization finds itself entangled in the legal troubles of their retired player, Scottie Pippen, who is currently facing accusations of sexual assault and harassment from an alleged previous partner.
According to court documents, Chyvette Valentine filed a civil lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, on Wednesday (Feb. 28), naming Scottie Pippen, the NBA team, and Pippen’s relatives (ex-wife Larsa Pippen and brother Carl T. Pippen) as the parties accountable for her purported distress.
Chyvette Valentine alleges she had an intermittent relationship with Scottie Pippen from 1987 to 1993. Their courtship ended after she was allegedly raped by the Pippen brothers, leading to the birth of her late son, Devonte Pippen, who was murdered in 2011.
Since their purported breakup, the accuser maintains that Pippen has utilized his position as a former Chicago Bulls player to stalk, harass, and torment her, resulting in significant mental and emotional anguish. She alleges to have suffered losses in housing, employment, and career opportunities due to his alleged stalking.
Additionally, Chyvette Valentine claims that when she sought to report the harassment to the authorities, the NBA legend obstructed her efforts by leveraging his connections with local, state, and federal officials.
Valentine further claims that Pippen leveraged his medical contacts to distort her reports, depicting her as “mentally ill.” The lawsuit involves a plethora of other allegations, detailing harassment and distressing incidents spanning three decades.
The plaintiff has petitioned for a jury trial and is pursuing $250 million in compensation from the Chicago Bulls, Pippen, and his relatives. Her assertions encompass stalking, harassment, deliberate infliction of mental and emotional anguish, death threats, defamation, child support for her deceased son, and a range of other grievances.
Through an emotional letter, Valentine first disclosed her intention to file the lawsuit. She restated her accusations of harassment by the Pippen family and held the NBA team responsible for failing to assist her, saying:
“Over the past 30 years and counting, I have endured a series of tormenting acts perpetrated by Scottie Pippen, Carl T. Pippen, and Larsa Pippen, with the Chicago Bulls organization failing to address or rectify the situation. These acts include stalking, harassment, and rape, among others.”
She continued,
“Despite my repeated attempts to seek recourse through appropriate channels, the Chicago Bulls organization has negligently allowed these crimes to persist unchecked.”
Valentine accuses the Chicago Bulls of demonstrating a “blatant disregard for the law and basic human decency,” urging them to acknowledge their failure in providing a safe and respectful environment for the team’s associates.
She warned the organization to take prompt action to address her grievances, stating that if they didn’t respond satisfactorily within 30 days, she would “pursue legal action to seek justice and restitution for the damages inflicted” upon her.
As of now, the Chicago Bulls have not provided any comment on the matter.
