Ray J Asks For Joint Custody Of His & Princess Love’s 2 Children Amid Their 4th Divorce Filing + Wants Assets To Be Separated

Update (April 9, 2024): Ray J has made a move in his and Princess Love’s ongoing divorce.

The Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood alum requested joint custody of his and Princess Love’s two children: daughter Melody, 5, and son Epik, 4. He also wants spousal support to be divvied up later on, according to court docs obtained by People on Monday (April 8).

Also in the papers, which marked his first legal response to Princess Love’s February filing, Ray J asked that their assets, such as “miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects” and the money he’s earned since they legally separated be divided. That amount has been noted as “to be determined” in court docs.

Ray J, who also wants him and Princess Love to cover their own attorneys’ fees, added,

“There are additional separate property assets and obligations of the parties, the exact nature and extent of which are not presently known.”

Original Story (Feb. 26, 2024): Another celebrity couple has called it quits.

“Love & Hip Hop” star Princess Love recently revealed in a statement shared to her Instagram account that she and Ray J have decided to end their marriage. As part of the candid message, she wrote,

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our decision to divorce. After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged, and it is in the best interest of both of us to part ways. We want to reassure you that this decision was made thoughtfully and with mutual respect and consideration for each other’s well-being.”

She continued,

“While our relationship as spouses may be coming to an end, we remain committed to co-parenting our children and maintaining a positive and supportive family dynamic. We ask for your understanding, support, and respect for our privacy during this challenging time. We are grateful for the love and friendship we have received from each of you throughout our marriage, and we hope to continue nurturing those relationships in the future.”

She added,

“Though this chapter of our lives may be closing, we look forward to embracing the opportunities for growth, healing, and new beginnings that lie ahead. We are confident that with time, understanding, and the support of our loved ones, we will navigate this transition with grace and resilience. Thank you for your understanding and support.”

This isn’t the first time the famous couple has broken up. You may recall that they have filed for divorce a few times before. In May 2020 Princess Love sought to end their union, however, she asked for a dismissal two months later. Then later that year in September, Ray J filed for divorce. After calling the split off he filed again in October 2021, according to reports. Ray J and Princess Love married in 2016 and share two children.
