Doechii Tells Azealia Banks ‘It’s Not My Fault You Sellin B*ssy Soap’ As She Warns To Leave Her Alone Amid Brewing Feud
You probably shouldn’t be holding your breath for Doechii and Azealia Banks to reconcile anytime soon.
Last night (Apr. 9) the two music artists had somewhat of a heated exchange on Instagram. The drama started over a four-day-old post of 25-year-old Doechii asking her fans what their fandom name should be. Azealia Banks, seemingly late to the poll, hopped into the comment section around 7:30 pm EST and offered a shady suggestion, writing,
“Definitely should call them the ‘wannabe’s’”

Doechii, real name Jaylah Hickmon, quickly replied to the “212” artist, warning Azealia Banks, 32, to leave her alone.
“[Azealia Banks] the first time you came for me I let it slide outta respect for my elders. It’s not my fault you sellin b*ssy soap and I’m sellin platinum records. Leave me alone PLEASE.”

This isn’t the first time Doechii and Azealia have bumped heads online. In 2022, they were slated to work together on a song. However, Azealia soon changed her mind, saying at the time,
“You have this f*cking Doechii chick, who I have no f*cking clue who she is.”

Then more recently, Azealia slammed people for comparing her musical sound to Doechii’s recent single “Alter Ego.” In part, she said,
“I don’t think anybody thinks your music is impressive. …I don’t know why everybody associates that sound with me.”

Azealia is known for unapologetically speaking her mind so there’s a slim chance she’ll listen to Doechii’s warning to back off.
