Boxing Champion Floyd Mayweather is investing in New York City in a major way.
According to TMZ the pro-athlete, 47, recently inked a $402 million real estate deal that saw him purchase over 60 buildings (more than 1,000 units) in the Big Apple. Floyd Mayweather says he will use to properties to offer affordable housing options for those who may be struggling in the area.
Speaking about the investment, he stated:
“Growing up I used to dream about owning just one home by myself, when you work hard you can achieve anything.”
The report notes that Floyd Mayweather bought the buildings from Black Spruce Management, according to the Real Deal, and that majority of the land is located in upper Manhattan.
