Alexis Ohanian Slams Sports Journalist Jason Whitlock For Criticizing Wife Serena Williams’ Crip Walk At The Super Bowl: ‘The Embodiment Of Peaked In High School’
Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, didn’t hold back while addressing sports columnist Jason Whitlock’s past and present criticism of Serena’s Crip Walk.
The two got into a heated exchange on X after Alexis defended Serena against backlash for performing the dance during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 9.
As previously reported, Serena had already shut down speculation that her cameo was a jab at her ex Drake. Instead, she clarified that Kendrick’s team invited her to Crip Walk as a response to the backlash she received for doing the dance after winning her Wimbledon title in 2012.

Alexis reinforced Serena’s stance by sharing a 2012 quote where Whitlock had demanded that Serena apologize for the “disrespectful” dance.
In response, Whitlock took a jab at Alexis, calling him a “simp” and suggesting he should be mad at Serena for “Crip Walking and still thinking about Drake” ??.
Alexis wasted no time firing back, writing:
“I get it—you’re 57, and life didn’t turn out the way you imagined. That kind of disappointment must be exhausting. You’re the embodiment of peaking in high school, spending decades chasing validation from strangers through Likes and Digital Hugs—only to find that no amount of external approval fills the void. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.”
He went on to suggest that Whitlock “work on yourself,” noting that doing so would leave him less time for ‘irrational hating.’”
Do you think Alexis’ response was warranted, or did he take things too far?
