Smokey Robinson Hilariously Recalls Being Mistaken For Lionel Richie

Smokey Robinson has no problem playing along when fans confuse him with his longtime friend Lionel Richie. 

The legendary singer appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” recently, where he shared a hilarious story about being mistaken for the “All Night Long” singer at an airport.

According to Smokey Robinson, a man excitedly approached him asking for an autograph for his girlfriend. But then came the twist. Smokey Robinson recalled the man saying:

“Would you sign ‘Love to Sarah from Lionel Richie?’” 

Instead of correcting him, Smokey said he happily wrote out the message exactly as requested! He added that this mix-up happens all the time and that he and Lionel Richie actually joke about it with each other.
