Los Angeles Dodgers Block ICE Agents From Entering Stadium Amid Protests

The Los Angeles Dodgers denied entry to federal immigration agents who tried to access Dodger Stadium.

On social media, the team said agents working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement requested permission to enter the parking lots today (June 19) but were refused. The Dodgers confirmed their game against the Padres will go on as planned.

Outside the stadium, protesters gathered holding signs and chanting “ICE out of L.A.” and “ICE go home,” while several dark SUVs carrying agents in Homeland Security uniforms were parked nearby.

It is still unclear why the agents were at the stadium.

While the Dodgers have previously cooperated with law enforcement by allowing the use of parking areas, many community members want the team to take a stronger stand amid recent ICE raids.

Dodgers player Kiké Hernández released a statement this week condemning the raids, saying:

“I am saddened and infuriated by what’s happening in our country and our city. I cannot stand to see our community being violated, profiled, abused, and ripped apart. All people deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, and human rights.”

What are your thoughts on this entire situation?
