Dwight Howard Hit w/ $40K Lawsuit From Ex-Assistant Over Alleged Unpaid Wages & Emotional Distress
#DwightHoward appears to have a lot going on at the moment.
Amid his messy fallout with wife #AmyLuciani, the newly retired basketball star is also dealing with a lawsuit from his former assistant. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, a man named Terrence Hudson claims he was hired last June to serve as the former couple’s house security and domestic manager, as well as Dwight’s personal assistant. Hudson alleges he was promised $2,000 per week for duties that included helping Dwight train and handling everyday tasks like driving, running errands, and purchasing food.
___________
However, Hudson claims that during his 15 weeks of employment, he was paid inconsistently and received only $8,137.54 in total. After attempting to settle the matter privately, allegedly sending Dwight a certified letter in December for payment, Hudson says his request was “declined.” He also claims he was “forced from the home with unjust enrichment due to none [sic] payment for over a month.” He is now seeking $40,702.06 in damages, which he says includes $30,702.06 in unpaid wages and $10,000 for emotional distress and “unjust enrichment.”
___________
The lawsuit arrives amid Dwight’s ongoing issues with his wife Amy, who recently alleged he has a coca!ne problem, as well as his filing for divorce soon after. It also comes as Dwight, who last played in the NBA in 2022 before taking his talents overseas, announced his official retirement from basketball. In a heartfelt post shared today (March 12), he wrote, “I figured it’s time to move on from Superman! … Through the lies, the media and the hate I still show love and Smile Through The Storm.”
