Activist Deray McKesson Says NRA Posted His Picture at National Convention
Civil rights activist Deray McKesson, recently took to social media and revealed that the National Rifle Association (NRA) posted his picture at their national convention in Dallas on Friday. He wrote,
The NRA put my photo on the screen yesterday during their annual convention, right before Trump and Pence spoke. They will not intimidate me to stop speaking out against them.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) is an American run organization that advocates for gun rights, and is highly criticized for pushing the sale of firearms after high profile shootings while also lobbying for more relaxed gun laws.
McKesson, who is also known as an avid Black Lives Matter supporter, has not only spoken up against police brutality in America, but has also participated in high profile protests. He is well known for speaking out against the Alton Sterling shooting in which he participated in protests that led to his arrest. All charges in that arrest have since been dropped, and McKesson continues to inform the public through his podcast “Pod Save the People.”
