John Witherspoon’s Son Reacts To Question About “Friday” Sequel Without His Late Father: Who Gives A Sh*t About Jobs He Can’t Do Anymore?

Late comedian John Witherspoon’s son, JD Witherspoon took to Twitter on Friday (Jan. 3rd), responding to questions surrounding the highly anticipated sequel to the last installment of Ice Cube’s ‘Friday’ films. The comedian’s son says he’s growing weary of the conversations about the future of any film his late father has been apart of,

“I hate to see dumb questions like this, as if my father was only a tool for your entertainment. Who gives a sh*t about jobs he can’t do anymore. Appreciate all the hard work he put into entertaining you for all the years he lived. He was so much more than the roles he played.”

Soon after, JD revealed he spoke with the outlet who posed the question on his father’s classic role and thankful came to an understanding.

As reported, back in December writer of the ‘Friday’ series, Cube gave fans an update on the fourth installment, Last Friday.

Back to the drawing board since New Line Cinema was slow on green lighting the LAST FRIDAY script that was full of Mr. Jones. I’ve been pissed off about it since Spoon passed away.”

He then tweeted that New Line Cinema has the distribution rights to the film, so he’s unable to go with another company.

In addition, Cube reportedly gave a speech during Witherspoon’s celebration of life in November apologizing to the late comedian for not getting the Last Friday movie done before his passing,

“I really apologize to my friend for not getting the next Friday movie made. It’s not my fault. Some dumbass people in Hollywood at New Line Cinema.”

According to reports, Witherspoon struggled with coronary artery disease and suffered a heart attack at the time of his passing on Oct. 21 at 5:30 in the evening in his Sherman Oaks, CA home. He was 77-years-old.
