Donald Trump Criticizes Barack Obama For His Response To Swine Flu + Defends His Own Actions w/ Coronavirus
President Donald Trump has been in the hot seat concerning how the U.S. government has handled the coronavirus outbreak. But he’s turned his attention toward his predecessor, President Barack Obama.
In a series of tweets, Donald Trump called out Barack Obama for how his administration handled the spread of the H1N1 Swine Flu in 2009. Back then, Barack Obama declared a public state of emergency amid the spread.
Donald Trump began with a few words for Barack Obama’s VP Joe Biden, who is currently running for President. He wrote Thursday (March 12),
“Sleepy Joe Biden was in charge of the H1N1 Swine Flu epidemic which killed thousands of people. The response was one of the worst on record. Our response is one of the best, with fast action of border closings & a 78% Approval Rating, the highest on record. His was lowest!”
“The Obama White House had to immediately issue an apology for Joe Biden’s remarks, and any alarm that he might have caused, an alarm about a Swine Flu outbreak that took 6 months for President Obama to declare a National Emergency, and that killed 12,000 Americans. @LouDobbs“

“has done a very good job on testing.”
“We had to change things that were done that were nobody’s fault. Perhaps they wanted to do something a different way, but it was a much slower process from a previous administration. And we did change them.”
“But the testing has gone very well. And when people need a test, they can get a test. When the professionals need a test, when they need tests for people, they can get the test.”
