Tom Hanks & Wife Rita Wilson Released From The Hospital, Son Chet Hanks Condemns Toilet Paper Hoarders: “If We All Just Be A Little Less Selfish, We’ll Be Fine”

Actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson were a few of the first celebrities to make the public aware that they had been diagnosed with the coronavirus (also known as, COVID-19). Last week, while filming a movie in Australia, the 63-year-old took to Instagram to updates fans on his and Rita’s condition.

Their controversial son, Chet Hanks, even chimed in.

Chet returned to social media Monday (March 16), adding that both of his parents had been released from the hospital, and were returning to quarantine.

“Hey, what’s up guys? So, quick update on my folks. They’re out of the hospital. They’re still self-quarantined, obviously, but they’re feeling a lot better. So that’s a relief. I just wanna say if anyone else out there has loved ones or if y’all are conflicted with the virus, my prayers go out to you – because a lot of people are suffering other than my parents right now. So I just wish everybody a speedy and swift recovery.”

Chet continued by condemning panicked shoppers that hoarded several units of toilet paper and water for themselves at grocery stores:

“And I think the most important thing is we just stay calm because panicking really isn’t necessary. And it’s just making things more difficult than they need to be. If you went to the grocery store and hoarded all the water and the toilet paper for yourself, I think you’re the problem. You should just think more of others for once. I think if we all just be a little less selfish and more selfless, we’re gonna be completely fine. I know this is crazy, but I’m just wishing everybody the best. But we’re gonna get through this. Love you guys, and stay safe.”
