Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets Team Now Coronavirus Symptom-Free
The NBA suspended all games and basketball activity on March 11th, and since then, several players have tested positive for the concerning coronavirus disease – including Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell. But perhaps the team hit the hardest in the league was the Brooklyn Nets. Four players on the team, including Kevin Durant, tested positive.
After the shocking diagnosis, all of the Nets’ players and traveling team went into self-isolation for two weeks. But now, according to their General Manager Sean Marks, everyone has been cleared of all symptoms. He told the NY Post:
“So far, everybody is healthy. The guys that were, that tested positive, have cleared their 14 days self-isolation and quarantine. They’re still practicing with social distancing like the rest of us. They are cleared like everybody, like the rest of the team and the staff right now…The entire travel party, Nets organization right now, basketball operations department is symptom-free. I’d say this is affecting a much bigger circle. I don’t know that any of us don’t know somebody who isn’t directly affected or come down with it.”
Sean Marks commented on the possibility of the season being resumed:
“As it pertains to the team, I sense that — like all of us, like the rest of New York and really the rest of the globe — we’re trying to deal with this as best we can…We’re certainly preparing for every different outcome. It’d be detrimental if we didn’t prepare to play or if the draft is going to be pushed back. We’re going to prepare for every different scenario, like we always have…[It’s] important to treat time wisely, do scouting, watch video and prepare financially for different scenarios.”
As noted before, Rihanna joked about Kevin Durant’s coronavirus diagnosis before wishing him a speedy recovery. Drake also chimed in with a few comments. See their banter below.
