Jeremih Says He Still Wears His Hospital Bracelet After Life-Threatening COVID-19 Battle: It’s A Reminder Of What I’ve Been Through
It’s been a couple of weeks since singer Jeremih was released from a Chicago hospital after fighting for his life while battling the coronavirus. But he revealed in a recent interview that he’s still rocking his hospital bracelet.
He told Kendra G of Chicago’s 107.5 WGCI:
“[It’s] just a reminder of what I’ve been through.”
He then joked:
“At the same time, these types of bands [are] hard to take off too…”
He went on to say:
“After a couple of days, I just be looking at it … I just want to remind myself what I’ve been through.”
He continued:
“Sometimes, [I look at it] to remind myself [of] my purpose here on this earth. While in [the hospital], I was unsure whether I was still going to be able to walk on this earth.”
As previously reported, Jeremih was in the ICU during his life-threatening fight with the coronavirus. Still, he said he’s not convinced he’ll take the highly anticipated COVID-19 vaccine.
“I’m not sure yet. Right now, I’m good. I’m still taking shots from the hospital. So, I’m good for my shots right now.”
He recently opened up about his experience in the hospital and explained just how bad things got for him.
“I had a tube down my throat for about a week and a half. I was really in a dream. I woke up like two times and all I remember is just seeing a white light those two times I was in there. What I ended up having, and I don’t mind sharing this because now I’m immune, it was called multiple inflammatory syndrome, MIS, which is a rare case of COVID. My whole insides, all my organs became inflamed. My heart went out, stopped beating, and started beating irregularly, my kidneys went out, my liver started to fail and go bad…I had to learn how to walk again, eat, all of that.”
He said he now sees his experience as a “blessing” and added:
“I needed to sit down, I needed to take a break. It’s been 13 years since I’ve been me.”
