Rose McGowan Says Oprah Is ‘As Fake As It Comes’ When It Comes To The #MeToo Movement
Actress Rose McGowan is calling out Oprah Winfrey!
In a tweet posted on Aug. 29, the former Charmed actress posted a picture of Oprah Winfrey and Harvey Weinstein and said,
“I am glad more are seeing the ugly truth of @Oprah. I wish she were real, but she isn’t. From being pals with Weinstein to abandoning & destroying Russell Simmon’s victims, she is about supporting a sick power structure for personal gain, she is as fake as they come. #lizard.”

McGowan also mentioned Winfrey’s connection to record producer Russell Simmons, who is also reportedly fighting multiple sexual misconduct allegations as well.

Russell Simmons
In 2020, Oprah Winfrey stepped down as an Executive Producer for ‘On The Record,’ a documentary about the #MeToo movement in Hollywood. After stepping down, Oprah claimed that Russell attempted to ‘pressure’ her out of the film, which would feature one of his alleged victims.
In a statement following her exit she said,
“I have decided that I will no longer be executive producer on the untitled Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering documentary and it will not air on Apple TV+. First and foremost, I want it to be known that I unequivocally believe and support the women. Their stories deserve to be told and heard. In my opinion, there is more work to be done on the film to illuminate the full scope of what the victims endured, and it has become clear that the filmmakers and I are not aligned in that creative vision.”
Rose McGowan also claims that Oprah is more interested in supporting the ‘sick’ power structure in Hollywood than actually tearing it down.
