Magic Johnson Recalls Time He Invited Michael Jackson To A Lakers Game & Fans Went ‘Crazy’: We Had To Stop The Game To Get Him Out
Magic Johnson‘s fame as a basketball player has afforded him many opportunities, including the chance to hang out with the late King of Pop Michael Jackson. In a recent interview, Magic Johnson recalled joining Michael Jackson for three of his tours when he was a member of The Jackson 5.
“Michael Jackson, he was such a perfectionist. You know, see him look in a mirror for two hours, working on his moves without his brothers.”
Hoping to return the favor, Magic Johnson shared that he invited Michael Jackson to a Lakers game, and things didn’t go as planned. According to Johnson, Michael Jackson was initially skeptical to come to the game due to concerns that his fans would cause a disturbance, however, he ultimately agreed to go.

Unfortunately, it turned out that Jackson was “right.” Johnson recalled:
“He sat down; people went crazy. They were running from upstairs, the sides. We had to stop the game to get him out.”
Sadly, Jackson died in 2009, aged 50, due to cardiac arrest. But it’s clear Johnson still has fond memories of him.
