Alicia Keys’ Voice Crack During Super Bowl Halftime Show Appears To Be Smoothed Out In Official NFL Footage Of Performance, Public Reacts: ‘That Ain’t What We Heard’
Are we experiencing the Mandela effect in real time?
Unless you live under a rock then you might be one of the reported 100 million home viewers or 61.2 thousand live viewers who watched Usher take the stage on Feb. 11 for the Super Bowl halftime show. The “Yeah!” artist gave his all as he showcased some of his biggest hits and even brought out a few friends; H.E.R., Will.i.am., Lil Jon, Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris, and Alicia Keys. The entire concert has been the topic of discussion since Sunday, however, the recently uploaded video of the musical event by the NFL to YouTube has many wondering if they truly remember what they witnessed.

Internet users have pointed out that the 13-minute and 20-second video shared online by the NFL appears to show a different version of Alicia Keys’ performance than what actually occurred. Reportedly, during the first note of her song “If I Ain’t Got You,” the 16x Grammy Award winner’s voice cracked. However, in the official video of the halftime show shared by the National Football League, the brief awkward start she had appears to be smoothed out.
It didn’t take long for the internet to notice the change, with one person writing on X,
“Yea I just rewatched it on my DVR and the crack was cracking. Here it’s gone completely. Lol”

Someone else joking continued,
“Oh, so YouTube gave Alicia her voice back since Ursula wouldn’t…”

Another person added above a meme image of Kyrie Irving wearing a dashiki hat,
“Maybe… it never happened”

Slip up or not, it only took a few seconds for Alicia Keys to find her footing and carry out the rest of her performance without any issues. As she played the piano Usher soon joined her to finish off the final notes of “If I Ain’t Got You” and then they went into their hit song “My Boo.”
Last night Alicia Keys’s voice cracked (first video), and fascinatingly, the official NFL YouTube channel appears to be attempting to erase that little moment, having edited it out in their upload (second video). pic.twitter.com/EM4k8rWT8c

Unfortunately, it seems that the voice crack moment removal has drawn more attention to the incident than the rest of Alicia Keys’ time on stage. See more reactions below:
