Recalling the song’s origins, K. Michelle shared:
“Do you know that’s one of the first songs I put out… R. Kelly wrote that record. I remember I was writing; I told him… ‘I am a star, Robert, and I just can’t do this no more!’”
She continued,
“He wrote it in my face. I was crying, and he was like, ‘Know I love you and I care about you’ [the song’s lyrics].”
K. Michelle also mentioned her mixed feelings about the track:
“I like that song now… but it’s a difficult song to sing.”

“Y’all like More Issues Than Vogue. That be the one that everybody likes, and I couldn’t tell what was on that album… I was high. I literally had the marijuana pills.”
