Actor Robert Downey Jr. isn’t playing around when it comes to his image and likeness.
The Marvel star issued a warning against any present or future movie execs who might consider using AI to bring any of his iconic characters back to life, making it clear his lawyers will fight against it.
When asked on the “On With Kara Swisher” podcast about his thoughts on his beloved Iron Man role potentially being revived through artificial intelligence, Downey stated:
“I would like to here state that I intend to sue all future executives just on spec.”

After the interviewer insisted that he’d be long dead by the time that happened, the Oscar winner added:
“But my law firm will still be very active.”
A Deadline report notes that while he was partially serious about the matter, Downey does have some investments with different AI companies.
Additionally, he’s currently starring in the Broadway play “McNeal,” where he portrays a prominent Nobel Prize novelist who uses AI to create a new work.
