50 Cent Speaks Out After Louisiana House Votes To End State’s Film Tax Credit
50 Cent shared some hopeful words with the citizens of Shreveport, Louisiana following news that the state could be ending their lucrative film tax credit program.
Expressing initial concerns about the move prior to a decision being made, 50 wrote in an Instagram post:
“this doesn’t feel good but it could be great for Louisiana, patience let’s see how it plays out.”
However, after Louisiana’s House of Representatives voted 87-12 earlier today (November 14th) in favor of suspending the $150 million incentive, the rapper-turned-media mogul followed up with:
“I know people in Shreveport are sick right now, stay positive everything happens for a reason.”

50 Cent added:
“I want to thank you for supporting me with Humor Harmony having zero violent crimes for 16 days, believe it or not that made that event one of my biggest accomplishments.”
The incentive was established in order to bring more business to the state and ultimately led 50 to open a 985,000-square-foot movie studio there in April, expanding his G-Unit film company.
Now that the House has made a decision, the issue will move to the Senate and Governor’s desk, who will also need to vote in favor of the suspension.
50 has not yet addressed whether or not he will plan to continue investing in the state should the program be suspended.
